Running Hiatus

And it’s official – I’m on a running “time-out”. It seems like the only thing that is going to heal up the IT-band issue is to rest it, ice it and cross train. So for the next 10 days there will be no running.

As little as a year ago this news would be cause for celebration – a cartwheel or two even. Being ordered not to run? Score! Now, not so much. What a difference a year can make.

Today was a stunning day in Vancouver – beautful blue skies, warm but not TOO warm – in a word – perfect. Perfect for a run. Everywhere I looked people were out for a run. I know I’m only out for 10 days, it could be worse. A lot worse. So I’ll try not to complain too loudly.

For the next 10 days I’ll be out on my bike, doing some climbing (hopefully a course in the near future!) And maybe some swimming and a hike. Time to make the most of this opportunity to try new things!
