Today, I went to my first wedding dress fitting. I showed up to my appointment for the dress fitting and put the dress on and it was way too big!
I found the dress in the winter (December or January, I think) it was a pretty good size. I fit in it very well and there were just a few tweaks that needed to be made. However, now that I’ve lost all this weight at WeightWatchers means my seamstress is working hard for the next two months. I was supposed to be an “easy” client for her. Haha! So much for that.
My wedding is in July and if you’ve been following the blog you’ll know that I am determined to look my best on my big day! I have been working out regularly with a trainer and I’ve just achieved my lifetime membership with WeightWatchers (read my post about it here). Little did I realize how much this would impact my dress! It makes me think about something Stacey said at our WeightWatchers meeting about needing to be committed to something in order to achieve it. I think my dress fitting showed me that my commitment paid off.
It really shocked me today to see the dress hang off me the way it did because it was a clear way to visualize the change in my body over the last few months. Even my mom was surprised! She knows all about the changes I’ve made in my diet but it really was hard to believe the difference even though the results were staring us in the face as the dress draped off me. Now the trick is to keep the weight off and not lose anything either!

Remember when I told you that you have a ‘dope’ body you just have to use it?! Well you laughed then but look at you now, congrats on putting yourself to the test of becoming your best. I know it’s a lot of work, but it’s soooo worth it mentally and physically. I’m proud of ya!!

Shanny!!! It’s so great to hear from you! How’s life down under?
I totally forgot you said that until you reminded me. I don’t think I could imagine what you were talking about, or believe it. I guess you were right! Thanks so much for your support now, and back when you were training me.
